Look out East Coast-Debra's coming!

Hey Kids...I'm coming to the Maritimes, and not just for the lobster rolls. You keep telling me that I need to come down east...is that what its called? Well now I'm coming... and you can buy tickets directly from each venue. Please tell your friends, especially any friends who may look like Nick Jonas! I'm going to prison! (after the shows) Also, I'm bringing two of my favorite people in the world. The very funny and delightful Allyson Smith, and equally funny and childlike Darryl Purvis. Its gonna be super fun! Hello everybody; last night I was honored with my first Gemini award in the category Best Comedy Performance! Who knew?? For those who are confused, the Gemini is Canada's Emmy! And I won!! It was very exciting and I'm not totally sure of what I said in my speech-I'm thrilled and very grateful. AND-I was wearing earrings!!! Big night...

I WIN!!

Hello all, Debra here-Canada's Best Female Comic for 2009! Hooray! I enjoy winning! It's delightful! We had a fantastic time at the Canadian Comedy Awards in Saint John, NB-thanks to Cass and Briane and Harry-and everyone who made it so great! I'm really the luckiest girl ever-I get to do what I love and I have the best community of comics to work with. Much love and congrats to all the women I was nominated with (Shelley, KVH, Katie and my dear pal Allyson!) I had SO much fun with you all! Off for my little west coast jaunt-hope to see you soon!

How's things? You're looking fantastic!! I'm off to New York this weekend to tape a Live at Gotham Comedy Central special, so yay! By 'special' I mean 7 minutes. But, still-YAY! I'm going to be joining the fabulous sketch troupe SHE SAID WHAT? at the Comedy Bar in Toronto on August 21. AND THEN-I'm off to Newfoundland! I'll be there the last weekend of August. Happy St Patrick's Day to all my drinkers!

I hope you're doing fabulously! Spring is finally here and that means short sleeved tops. Crap. NOT READY!! It also means lots of comedy-so I hope you can come see a show. It's a terrific way to spend a night-still cheap and really, the most fun you can have on any given evening (before midnight). I'm also finishing my new cd-it should be ready for purchase very soon!
